The AARP recently published a list of things to do when a loved one dies:
“What to Do When a Loved One Dies”
June 11, 2020
This is a nicely-organized list of practical things to do, grouped around the time frame. As a lawyer quoted in the article says, “the amount of paperwork can take survivors by surprise.”
The article also notes that these are not tasks for one person. The survivor needs help from others, including professionals, family, and friends.
Here’s another of my favorite articles on this topic:
“100 Things That Must be Done by the Survivor”
Prepared In Every Way
The maker of that list suggests that we provide details about the tasks *well before* we die!
So….have the conversation now, rather than later!
