“The Wait List” (from Journeying Alongside)

Hospital chaplain Christine Vaughan Davies writes a Substack newsletter called “Journeying Alongside.”  A recent article is about the ordinariness and extraordinariness of waiting, and what we can do while waiting.

Her guidance is to keep breathing; focus on what you can control; say your hopes and fears aloud; anchor to the present moment (including the five  senses exercise); and distract yourself (including physical movement).  For those new to meditation or mindfulness, the chaplain’s guide is worth checking out.
