We agree that Dementia with Lewy Bodies is under-diagnosed. It is not a rare disorder. As Michael Okun notes, awareness can aid in diagnosis. Paradoxically, our involvement in over 1500 brain donations has taught us that DLB is over-diagnosed as well. We see many neuropathology reports in those with a clinical diagnosis of DLB (or Lewy body dementia) where not a single Lewy body is found in the brain at autopsy!
